Backyard Forest Conference

8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Johnson County ISU Extension Office

3109 Old Hwy 218 S

As invasive species crowd out vital native plants, it’s more important than ever to manage your backyard forest.

Join Trees Forever, the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Forest Service for a day of
workshops and a two-hour walking tour of Ryerson Woods. Our workshops will cover a wide-range of
land management topics, including chainsaw safety and felling, burning, removing and identifying invasive
species, and more. Click here to see the day's agenda.

Learn from experts including District Forester Mark Vitosh! Vitosh has been a forester for three decades and works hard to assist private landowners and communities in managing their forests. Click here to see the biographies of the other presenters.

The $15 registration fee includes lunch, the NEW Iowa DNR Forestry Invasive Species Guide pocketbook and additional materials.

Please register below by October 1.
