Financial Information

Trees Forever is a qualified 501(c) (3) charitable organization designated by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service and donations to Trees Forever are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law.

On average, over 80% of each dollar contributed is used directly in programs. About 7% goes toward fundraising with the balance used for education and support of projects and operations.

Trees Forever relies on direct contributions from individuals, foundations, businesses and organizations to support its operations.

Trees Forever’s total budget ranges from $1.6 million to $2 million per year depending on projects in process for the budget year.

Financial oversight of Trees Forever and its supporting Foundation are provided by the Trees Forever Board of Directors and Foundation Trustees. The Board Finance Committee provides monthly oversight, and the Board of Directors reviews financials. Each year an annual audit is completed by an independent audit firm and is available upon request.
