Pioneer Community Improvement Program
SOURCE: Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc. in conjunction with Iowa 4-H and Youth Programs
PURPOSE OF PROGRAM
Grants are made to 4-H clubs for local community improvement projects. The purpose is to provide “seed money” that clubs can use as a starting point on their project.
ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS
Local 4-H clubs
ELIGIBLE PROJECTS
Some examples of projects that have been funded include:
- Establishing a native prairie
- Improving ball parks
- Replacing dead trees
- Restoring a cemetery or historic monument
FUNDING CRITERIA
The grant should equal no more than half of the total budget. A letter of support from the governing board of the project location must accompany the application.
GRANT AMOUNT
Grants fall between $25 and $250
APPLICATION DEADLINE
December 1 to county Extension office
ACCEPTANCE NOTIFICATION
By mid February
