Seniors from Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock High School helped plant residential trees on May 12 on their community service day after participating in Trees Forever's training to help increase youth involvement. A separate tree planting was held on a Saturday in May to involve students other than the seniors. Students helped plan the planting at the second training session, and a third meeting that the committee held. Students also helped develop posters to advertise the availability of the trees to residents. Other students joined a subcommittee to help plan a prairie planting at the Depot area, a project which came out of the Visioning program. The group wrote a grant and was successful in securing $2500 for the planting in the fall. The group has started a Facebook page to help them communicate with volunteers.
