Technical support and funding provided by Trees Forever helps Des Moines neighborhoods grow community pride and beautifully shaded areas to work and play.
The Des Moines NeighborWoodsTM program has a focus on working with residents to green neighborhoods and parks in Des Moines. The program provides funding and technical assistance to neighborhood groups and individuals for tree planting projects including parks, schools, residential, and community buildings. There are also opportunities for volunteers to participate in a variety of public educational projects and plantings.
Who is eligible to participate?
• Neighborhood groups
• interested individuals
• community service groups
The goals of NeighborWoods include:
• the development of educated, empowered community volunteers and neighborhood leaders that promote tree planting and care
• raising the level of awareness of the value of Des Moines’ urban forest
• planting and maintaining trees that beautify and shade the community, improve its urban forest, increase energy efficiency, and improve air and water quality
What assistance or services are provided through this program?
The program provides funding for trees. Trees Forever field coordinators provide technical and planning assistance to groups, and also directly coordinate a number of public educational events

There are no deadlines; just contact Trees Forever if you have a project in mind.
