Another way we plan to document the many roles that trees play in our lives is through the Trees Forever 20 Photos contest. We are looking for photos that highlight the natural beauty of trees and the Midwestern landscape.

A panel of judges will select to the top 3 photos in each of the following six contest categories:

  • Trees of Life - Photos of trees and tree parts
  • Wildlife and Nature - Wildlife in a natural setting
  • People and Nature - People enjoying the great outdoors
  • The Four Seasons - Emphasizing seasonal beauty
  • Natural Landscapes - Miscellaneous nature scenes
  • Youth Class - Photos by youth ages 17 and under

Judges will also select two special winners:

  • Best Oak Tree, Leaf or Acorn - In recognition of Iowa’s state tree
  • Best of Show - Judges’ favorite from all categories

Amateur photographers may enter one photograph per category. Winning photos will be published in a commemorative calendar for 2010, and will be displayed at Trees Forever events during the year.
