United Way of Caring Garlic Mustard Pull, Marion, IA

Wednesday, May 19, 2010
Join us on the United Way Day of Caring for a Garlic Mustard Pull in Marion at Thomas Park, 343 Marion Blvd. This is the new date for the event, which was postponed due to rain. Garlic mustard is an invasive weed which crowds out native woodland plants.

Volunteers can participate between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. Volunteers should meet at the green pavilion to sign in and receive instructions. Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, and gloves. Long sleeves are optional, but everyone should dress for the weather. There is poison ivy in the woods, but those who are severely allergic to it can still provide volunteer support.
