Trees Forever is hosting a Trees & Water Quality Symposium in Moline, IL on September 9, 2010.  You don't want to miss the opportunity to hear Randy Neprash of Bonestroo and the Minnesota Cities Stormwater Coalition give a presentation on "Integrating Trees for Water Quality in Your Community."  This Symposium is filled with valuable information for all, with agriculture and community tracks throughout the day.

Why We Need to Get Trees Back in American Agriculture
~ Tom Sauer, Research Soil Scientist, National Laboratory for Agriculture & the Environment

The growth habits and nutrient cycling properties of trees are distinctly different from those of crop species. These differences offer multiple opportunities to not only reduce N and P transport to groundwater and surface waters but also to improve nutrient use efficiency and help mitigate climate change. The multiple benefits of more trees in agricultural landscapes will be presented as a practice to enhance the resilience of agroecosystems and improve environmental quality.
