Keep Iowa Beautiful has scheduled the 7th annual FIRST IMPRESSIONS SYMPOSIUM for Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Reiman Gardens on the Iowa State Campus in Ames.
“The symposium is a great opportunity for community leaders, elected and public officials, those interested in beautification and growing tourism, chamber and economic development leaders,” said Chairman of KIB Kevin W. Techau. “Participants will leave the symposium with many ideas and resources for improving the image of their communities.”
Governor Terry Branstad will present the Environmental High School Scholarship Awards and the Annual Outstanding Volunteer Service Awards.
“The day long symposium will be filled with many new ideas and ‘best practices’,” added Gerald Schnepf, Executive Director of KIB. “This year’s theme of PLANTING THE SEEDS OF GREEN includes panel sessions on Greening the Landscape, Are Green and Sustainability the Same?, Green Leadership and KIB’s Green Programs.”
