Volunteers are invited to help pull garlic mustard, an invasive plant, in the woods at Thomas Park in Marion. Volunteers will work between 8:00 am and noon and 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm, and will meet in the pavilion area (look for signs).
Volunteers do not need special skills or tools for this project, but they must be able to walk on uneven terrain. Volunteers should wear long pants and closed-toe shoes and may want to wear gloves. People with severe reactions to poison ivy should not participate in this event.
This is a United Way Day of Caring event, and will include volunteers from area companies. Trees Forever's coordination of this event is sponsored by Marilyn Sippy.
