6:30 pm - Presentation of Trees Forever's 20th Anniversary Report to Waverly Light and Power's Board of Directors
In 1991, Waverly Light and Power was the first municipal utility company in Iowa to join Trees Forever in planting more trees for energy conservation and community betterment. The local utility's leaders recognized the importance and value of planting trees for the energy savings benefits they provide, as well as the many other benefits that trees provide to property owners and the community at-large. This award-winning partnership between Trees Forever, Waverly Light and Power, and Waverly Trees Forever, has resulted in the planting of over 7,500 trees by over 2,500 youth and adult volunteers.
