Improving Iowa Watersheds: Striking the Right Balance
Trees Forever is a conference partner and, along with the Iowa Flood Center, has organized a session on Wednesday afternoon on Floodplain Management. Among the presenters in that session will be Trees Forever Program Manager and Field Coordinator, Mark Pingenot presenting: What Goes On in the Watershed Stays in the Watershed: Managing and Maintaining Riparian Buffers for Long Term Success. Mark Mastellar of the Iowa DOT will also speak on what the DOT is doing to improve stormwater management along Iowa's roads. Trees Forever is also hosting Dr. Richard Schultz at 1:00 pm on Tuesday when he will present: What we've learned about riparian buffers from 20 years of research at Bear Creek.
