About Trees Forever

Do you have questions about our organization? Find out everything you need to know, and more!
What exactly is Trees Forever
Trees Forever is a nonprofit organization with corporate offices in Marion, Iowa, with a mission to plant trees and care for the environment. At Trees Forever, we have always believed that people should be involved in taking positive action to improve their communities, farms and backyards. For every planting project, our goal is to involve volunteers of all ages—and that often includes students, community leaders and elected officials. Trees Forever has very active programs in Iowa and Illinois, but we occasionally work in other states. We have produced educational materials for national and international audiences, including the award-winning Spirit of the Trees documentary series on Native Americans and their connections to trees and forests. Trees Forever is a founding member of the National Alliance for Community Trees, a coalition of organizations focused on community forestry. Trees Forever has a volunteer board of directors and a staff of around 20.

How can I get involved with Trees Forever?
We will do our best to match your interests as a volunteer with ongoing opportunities. Because tree and prairie projects are usually planted in the spring and fall, we are always looking at ways to involve volunteers at other times. In any given year, we are working with over 200 communities and well over 50 farms, so there are many local activities. Please let us know what your interests are and your geographic area, and we will send you emails--or you may check our list of upcoming events and projects on our website.
