Join Trees Forever this summer to become a Growing Futures Adult Supervisor! Growing Futures is a group of young people who plant, water and maintain thousands of trees around Des Moines. As a Growing Futures Adult Supervisor, you will work alongside the Growing Futures Teammates (GFTs), hone your leadership skills and lead by example. Apply for the summer session at 20 hours per week from June through August and/or 8 hours on Saturdays during the spring and fall sessions. Pay is $15 per hour and lunch will be provided each day.
Skills we are looking for: Willingness to jump in, problem solving, safety consciousness, perseverance, delegation and empowerment, accountability, commitment, and passion.
To qualify, you must:
- Be 19 or older
- Have a valid U.S. drivers license
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Have the ability to carry at least 80 pounds
- Demonstrate a good attitude and leadership skills
The 2019 program dates are as follows.
Spring Session - Saturdays, April 20 - June 1, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Summer Session - Monday through Thursday, June 10 - August 8, 2019 during a morning shift (8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) or afternoon shift (noon - 5:00 p.m.)
Adult crew leaders must also attend a separate orientation and training session prior to Growing Futures youth teammates starting (date to be determined).
