You and your legislator are invited to an optional breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in room 116.
Fill Up the Rotunda to Show Lawmakers You Care!
At 9:45 a.m. Iowa Flood Center Co-Founder Larry Weber, Trees Forever CEO Shannon Ramsay, Iowa DNR Director Kayla Lyon and other speakers will explain how our policies can help Iowa trees and forests. We hope to have a big group of supporters in the Rotunda to show lawmakers that Iowa values trees and our policies need to reflect these values.
What is There to Talk About?
- Trees and wood have economic value—resulting in more than $3Billion in Iowa’s economy!
- Every neighborhood and community benefits when trees are healthy!
- Time to fund the trust! The Natural Resources Trust Fund will benefit reforestation on both public and private lands. One penny in sales tax would make a big impact!
- The Coalition recommends an investment of $3Million in new funds to help communities and landowners cope with invasive species, grow more trees, and keep our woodlands healthy
