Join us at our open house on Tuesday, April 23
After nearly 30 years of renting, Trees Forever’s main office is settling into a permanent location at 80 West 8th Avenue, Marion, Iowa. The building sits alongside Donnelly Park and a Boysen Trail by Indian Creek, and with this change comes many opportunities!
Financial Security for the Long-Term
We’re saving on rent and building equity. "Every time a donor chips in, we become one step closer to the day when we have no mortgage—and as a result, we have more money to put trees in the ground," said Brad Morgan, Past Board Chair.
More Training for Volunteers
We hold many educational classes, but prior to our move we always had to hold those courses at another location because our old building didn’t have space. Now we hope to hold more classes to train volunteers, which will help us expand our mission of planting a better tomorrow. Volunteer engagement is at the heart of what we do because planting a tree is a great way to empower people to care for the environment.
Demonstrating our Mission
Our entire building is on one floor with lots of windows and space for tools, equipment, educational materials and the new volunteer training center. Just as we talk about at Our Woodland Legacy Symposium, this building integrates nature into our staff and volunteers lives as they work for the cause. The outside landscaping will also be used to demonstrate the beauty and utility of native plants and trees.
You may park at Thomas Park and walk or bike the trail to Donnelly Park and our building. Parking will be available at both Donnelly and Willow Park lots as the Trees Forever parking lot will be reserved for handicapped only.
